Fashion import supply coordinator

At Simons, supply coordinators are among the key people who feed the innovation triangle and are at the heart of our exclusive creations. The incumbents are the link between manufacturers and the Design and Purchasing departments to generate innovative ideas to support our unique assortments.

The coordinators ensure quality control of our products and are responsible for our relationships with suppliers. They are in charge of managing our supply chains and developing new procurement options.

As proud ambassadors of La Maison to our partners, their role is to initiate and maintain authentic relationships with our suppliers. Thanks to their expertise, the coordinators rigorously protect the maintenance and improvement of our social and environmental partnership standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in supplier portfolio management and ensure compliance.
• Ensure the agility and diversification of our supply chain in line with our Vision objectives.
• Create the procurement plan and ensure its distribution as established.
• Oversee the reduction of the cycle time related to product development.
• Identify and negotiate the price of new sources of fabric supplies.
• Analyze the product’s cost components and negotiate the final price.
• Optimize investment decisions inherent to styles.
• Take part in developing the right high-quality product at a fair price to reflect the Simons value.
• Manage the production follow-up and ensure the collaboration of the various departments involved.

Desired Profile:
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Have experience in fashion, a manufacturing plant, or quality control in a manufacturing environment, an asset.
• Have a thorough understanding of the production cycle, fabric, and impacts on the design.
• Have great communication skills and diplomacy.
• Be curious and very interested in new materials and fashion.
• Be able to travel abroad.
• Be able to effectively communicate in English and French, both spoken and written, in order to do so with all stakeholders.
