Director of Human Resources

Reporting to the Vice-President of Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources oversees all human resources management activities and ensures they align with Simons’ policies, procedures, and corporate philosophy. They are responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, development, social benefits administration, as well as personnel health and safety. They work closely with the Director of Store Operations to achieve various qualitative and quantitative objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Train, guide, and advise management teams.
• Ensure the work atmosphere reflects company values.
• Embody Simons’ philosophy by providing attentive customer service, a proud company tradition since 1840. 
• Assess their own work and strive for continuous improvement and excellence in the way they perform their duties.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and two to five years of experience in human resources management for a retail fashion business (significant asset).
• Keen interpersonal skills, excellent judgment, and strong analytical skills.
• An excellent communicator showing a high degree of professionalism. 
• Keen organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively and constructively while under pressure.
• Bilingualism: candidates must be able to communicate in the official language of the province of the Simons store for which they are applying.
