Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Supplies & Equipment Buyer is responsible for the strategic procurement of goods necessary for the company's operations. He ensures that the best suppliers are selected, that advantageous conditions are negotiated and that an optimal level of inventory is maintained. It also manages and monitors the budget associated with its purchasing categories, with a view to optimizing costs and continuous improvement. In the performance of his duties, he works closely with several internal teams, including operations and all of the network's stores, in order to align the needs of the field with procurement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate capabilities, costs and services offered in order to recommend the best business partners.
- Negotiate commercial agreements (price, deadlines, terms) in order to optimize value for the company.
- Plan, manage and monitor the purchasing budget allocated to supplies and equipment.
- Develop just-in-time sourcing, MIN/MAX and other optimization practices.
- Ensure the accuracy of inventories through rigorous controls and regular physical counts.
- Track and implement key KPIs.
- Collaborate with the design, brand management and operations teams for the development of supply concepts.
- Supervise, coordinate, coach and provide an advisory role to the MRO technician (maintenance, repair and operations).
Desired Profile
- Hold a bachelor's degree in administration or in a purchasing-related field.
- Possess 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills and autonomy.
- Experience in trade negotiations and analysis.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying problems and implementing immediate solutions.
- Be able to express yourself in French and English, both orally and in writing, to communicate effectively with the various French-speaking suppliers.
